Michael and John were my neighbors at an apartment complex about 12 years ago here in Wilmington. My children are a couple of years older and a couple of years younger than Michael. We each would expect to run into him atleast a couple of times a year, either at the beach or at the grocery store, or wherever. It didn't matter where, it was always a blessing. My Family is greiving tonight. Michael is such a pleasant soul. An honour to have known for even a minute.

My husband and I were only acquaintances of Michael through seeing him at the farmers market. He always made me WISH that I fished. It was always nice to run into him outside of the market too. His smile--- AMAZING!!! We always left mike encounters feeling happy. He had a rare, genuine light inside of him that was totally infectious no matter how the day was going. We are so lucky that we got to enjoy knowing him, even just as a friend in passing.

Man, Michael, I had no idea. I am so sad. You truly were the most genuine friend ever. I can't believe this has really happened. I expected to see you fishing at the jetty at the south end again. I'm sorry, you will be missed my friend.

John, Roselle, and the boys,
We are in shock as we just now found out about Michael's passing. We can't even imagine your pain and grief. Your memory service of Michael will always be a special sweet memory for all of you. Roselle, you are a wonderful, loving mother, and John, we know how much you love your boys. We remember John Jr., Michael, and Daniel as little boys playing in the neighborhood in New Orleans. Please know we are praying for God to surround you with His peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Pictures flash through our minds as we remember Michael. He and Brad with BIG smiles and little fish. Tie dyed T-shirts that Roselle helped them make. Birthday parties and sleep overs. Watching with his brothers, the Kaylor boys & Brad for Santa's helicopter to arrive at CGAS NOLA and ATC Mobile. Competing at CG swim meets--John SR flying an H-3 over the Jr Championship Meet--the "rap" we wrote & performed at a Banquet. Splashing in your backyard pool. Crabbing and body surfing during our visit to E-City. What sweet memories are in the album. Michael was used to being loved and cared for and now God will do that. Love & prayers, Leigh & Charlotte

What a brother you have been over the years. I promise to live your legacy and share your passion for the sea, fishing.. and be an INSPIRER just as you have been for me. The many hours we stared at the sea fishing and spoke of our faith in HIM I have no doubt you are taking a dent in the Fish Stock in heaven. I will always love, miss, and share your life with anyone who will listen. LOVE & PEACE Bro.. Capt. Trev

To all who loved this special young man, Mike will be remembered as someone who, even as a small child (my memories), marched to his own drummer. As parents of a Michael who does the same, we understand the joy one feels as we watch these free spirits flourish, knowing they will forever fly free. To those who encouraged Mike to do what he loved, may your memories bring you comfort and peace.
God will never take us where His grace cannot sustain us. Our love and prayers are with you always.
