Brenda and Family: What a great guy and man Bob was. Always having a huge smile on this face and telling jokes that we would all laugh at even if I didn't understand. Not only a family friend but banking buddy too! His photo is so perfect and with great love to your family, Mary Phillips Saieed and Steve Saieed

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Bob for many years when he was in Cumberland. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile. He was always very kind and a gentleman.

Bob Boxley will always be remembered as a dear friend, a close neighbor, a welcomed conversationalist, a patriot, and a man always with a smile and a sense of humor, a man who appreciated military service, and one you could not help but love. We knew he loved his family; he often went out of his way to sing their praises. Bob will be sadly missed.
We are in Mexico and very sorry that we cannot be with Brenda and the family to offer our condolences in person. Our prayers are with the family. May Bob rest in peace.

I met Bob about two years ago at the Cape Fear Model Railroad Society and soon we became friends. I always enjoyed talking with him and exchanging model train stories. He would often share with me other tales about some of his past ventures and adventures. His stories always made me smile at least, but usually he made me laugh. He was a good man and quite a character. I wish I could have known him longer. He will be missed.

Like Bob I was born in West Virginia and am a member of the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk. Because I lived in northern WV, my husband and I spent many hours in Pittsburgh, PA for sports and cultural events. I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to Brenda and the rest of Bob's wonderful family. Elizabeth "Libby" Frye

Robert Boxley was one of few people I could really call "Friend". I cherish every moment we had to chat about anything and everything, and he was someone I could share by deepest feelings with and he had a way of letting me know, he understood. I knew if I ever needed him, he'd be there for me. I felt that devoted to him as well. He came to see me during my one and only stay at the hospital and that meant a lot to me. Bob was unselfish, generous, kind, and always wanted to do the right thing. We talked recently about getting together one day for lunch. I reckon we put it off a little too long. I wish I had had a chance to sit one more time with him, even if all we did was sit. I woulda told him how much I loved him. I am grateful for his time, his honor and his courage and I look forward to celebrating his life on Thursday. I am going to miss Bob.

Bob was a Rotarian in Wilmington East Rotary for well over 20 years. Bob and I had a silly little routine each time we saw each other. I would ball up my fist and say "just one time big guy" and then "I'll run because I know you will get me." We had a good time with that. I'll never forget his winning laugh when I would tell him a joke, which was often. Will miss Bob, his winning smile, and great attitude that didn't waver even after he became ill. A great guy. He died with dignity. My condolences to the family.

Bob Boxley was a good man, a patriot, and a gentleman. He will be remembered for his friendship, his generosity, and his unfailing good humor. Bob always preserved a sense of fun, a simple joy, that we in the train club saw every week.

I will always cherish the time we spent playing with the '51 Willys and telling Jeep stories (mostly true ones)! Every time we visited you in NC, you were proud to introduce me as your friend from Pennsylvania. Sheila and I were blessed to join you at the beach and for some of your family gatherings. You and Brenda taught us the true meaning of "southern hospitality!"
I am thankful that I got one last opportunity to speak to you on the phone last Thursday!
Much love to the the whole Boxley family!

Bob was a good neighbor in Surf City. He was always ready to share a story, catch up on our family, and would loan you any tool in his garage. We will miss his wit and positive outlook. We promise to help Brenda with the yard work. Love to all the family, The Ritchies
