Mr. King was a favorite patient of mine at the VA in Fayetteville. I don't know if I ever helped him as much as he helped me. God bless you all.

Dear Savonna, Mrs. King, Marcella, Stewart, Monica and family...
Your dad was always so full of energy. No doubt, it was his strong love of Christ that compelled him to be such a shining light for all to see!
My first memories of meeting your dad (and husband) was when I met you when you came to visit my wonderful roomie, Savonna at LU. My last memories of our time together were those in May of 2006 when he spent bragging on his "little girl" who just got her Master's Degree. Boy was he one proud Pappa! And Boy, did he love having his kids and grandkids around.
One of the wonderful things I always remembered about him (something that has always stuck with me since my first visit as a guest in the Kings' home) was his graciousness and praise of his sweet wife. I will never forget the way he always said, "Thank you Momma/Mother" for her making dinner and the 100 other simple things she did for him on a daily basis.
I know you all will miss him very much, none more than you, "Mom." I wish I could be there to hug you all.
I'm praying for you all. God's grace is sufficient during this very difficult time and in the months to come. 2 Corinthians 12:9
All my love, hugs and prayers!

Savonna and family, I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. What a great legacy he has passed on to you and your family. Although I only met him that one time in your classroom, his spunk and vitalty made a vivid impression on me! He lived life to the fullest. But, I can rejoice with him that he is with the Lord...living his new life to the fullest! My love and prayers to you and your family, Debbie McGowan

Louise, Although my memories of Robert are recent, meeting him at my mother's 90th birthday for the first time, I was struck by his vitality, enthusiasm and his easy to know manner. I regret not knowing him sooner as I am sure he had great stories to tell about his military service as well as his life. It was enjoyable to watch the two of you sing with mother, and later at a get together with George Saunders' grandson. I was happy to see you last summer at the reunion of Aunt Grace's family. I know you are comforted by your faith and your wonderful life together. I am sorry that I cannot be at the visitation or funeral, as I am leaving on Wednesday morning for Michigan. My prayers are with you and your family. His sparkling personality will be missed. Warmest regards, Kay Brackenbury Stewart
