Robin Hobbs Obituary
Robin Parker Hobbs passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 28, 1957, a daughter of Fred and Betty Parker. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.B. and Elneda Sermons and J. Morton and Fannie Parker, and a niece, Julie Parker.
Robin was creative in design and designed and changed many settings under Scheme of Things at Holden Beach. She attended Shallotte High School, graduated from Salem Academy in Winston Salem, and attended East Carolina University.
She is survived by her husband, Michael, two daughters, Augusta and Madaline; brother Ricky (Vicki); sister, Wanda Bradsher (Tommy); brothers-in-laws Jimmy Hobbs (Rachel) and Ronnie Hobbs; sister-in-law, Sonya Batten (Wayne); five nieces; three nephews; and in-laws, James and Betty Hobbs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, at Sharon United Methodist Church in Holden Beach by The Rev. Eddie Hill. Interment will be Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers will be Tom Massingale, Gerald Brown, Michael Cox, Al Parker, Rusty Campbell and Will Bradsher.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.

Heaven is blessed to have such a beautiful addition as Robin in its midst. I will always miss her generous and loving nature. I am so thankful to have so many wonderful memories of time spent with her. My prayers will be for her daughters, Augusta and Maddie to be able to be comforted by the Lord, the One that is able to give a peace that passes all understanding. I pray for grace for Michael, Augusta and Maddie, that the community would allow them to grieve and show mercy and grace to each one of them, something everyone deserves.
I am looking forward to having her there waiting for me to enter heaven’s gates!

Robin was my best friend for 37 years. Robin's main passion in life was to care for the ones she loved. She loved to cook and feed one or 100. Her daughters meant everything to her and she was so proud of them. If ever anyone was sick or in need, Robin was there to lend a helping hand. She was tenacious in her goals and created a successfull building and design business at Holden Beach. Her personality coupled with her creative talent made her a success. Robin loved to walk the Beach she grew up on but she also loved the mountains. The mountains were her solace and she always felt renewed when she spent time there. Robin was fiercely loyal to those she loved and you always knew she would be there fo you. Heaven will shine a little brighter with Robin's star.

I have spent the past week going through my mother's(Jean Russ) childhood pictures of all us children. It was no surprise to see Robin's wonderful smile in not one but many of our family pictures. For Rusty, Billie Jean and I, a large piece of our childhood now has been taken away from us also. I will cherish this past week of reliving all the memories of hanging out on OIB.
May God watch over all of you as you go through this most difficult time in your life. Remember her smile and her joy for life.
