Always lovely, light-hearted and quick to laugh, Sherry will surely be remembered for her style, her sweet and generous spirit, and her friendship. I knew her as a child when I visited my cousin, Cheryl (nee Joyner) Outlaw, in Magnolia. Later at James Kenan High we became close friends as classmates, cheerleaders, club members and just teenagers. I would sometimes spend the night with her at Mrs. Lela's and Mr. Alvin's house, with Rock often around, and those precious memories of staying up late, gossiping and laughing stay with one forever. Time, distance and different journeys may separate us for a while, but we all do come together again -- both on this earth and in the sweet beyond -- though I believe not often enough, as each day here is so very precious. Sherry never changed as I knew when we met at a reunion in recent years, on Mother's Days at The Country Squire, or at the funerals of a family friend or teacher. I have delighted in her photographs of her travels in the past couple of years. How wonderful to experience the world! My deepest sympathy goes out to her husband, son and brother, and I pray that beautiful memories of a beautiful woman will sustain them, bring them peace and joy, and keep Sherry living in their hearts until they are with her once again.

I grew up with Sherry and her family in Magnolia. Her mother, Lela, always talked about how after Sherry was born in December, Christmas Carolers sang to her outside the window. She was such a sweet little girl. We went to church together and I remember fondly the times at our little house at Carolina Beach. She was such a prissy little thing at the beach. She grew up to be a fine woman. Much sympathy to her husband, son and brother. May they always keep her in their hearts and may God give them peace.

Sherry was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved her family and never forgot her parents and other
family in Magnolia. She was a second cousin . We recently moved from Magnolia to Wilmington and it was a
pleasant surprise to run into her recently in Belks. Our hearts go out to her family. Heaven has gained another angel.
