Richard Petzing Obituary
Funeral Services will be held at 11 on Monday, August 22nd at St. John's Lutheran Church in Peru. Burial with full military rites will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tonica. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:50 Monday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.
Richard Petzing was born February 4, 1929 in Peoria to Oscar and Margaret Petzing. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany with the 43rd Infantry Division and the 118th Medical Battalion from 1952-1953. He married Helen Herrmann on July 24, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tonica.
Richard was a farmer in Tonica, worked at Sundstrand, Letterkraft Printers, and retired as a printing pressman at Sigma Graphics. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Peru.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Peru; three children, Janice Hoge of Wenona, Dale Petzing of Lafayette, IN, and Lynn Bosteels of Lecanto, FL; one grandson; three step-grandchildren, Melissa Golden, Kristin Bosteels, and Elizabeth Lajoie; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Dippel of Granville.
Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Peru or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
