SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Mrs. Mary L. "Sista" Golden Hamilton, age 74, passed into rest Friday, June 25, 2021, at Hospice Savannah.
She was born December 29, 1946, to the late Edward and Adell Page Golden.
At an early age, she moved to Savannah, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Chatham County and was a graduate of the Sol C. Johnson High School Class of 1964. Afterwards, she obtained a medical assistant degree at South College.
Mary Hamilton was a member of the Second Calvary Baptist Church for over five years. She lived for and loved her family and friends wholeheartedly.
She was employed by Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lula Mae Kelly; and brother, Willie Edward Golden.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Traci Wright-Barnes (Eric), Andre Golden, Sean Golden, Ellis Hamilton Jr. and Wayne Hamilton; a sister, Mary L. Golden; three honorary sisters, Louisiana Holmes, Mattie Clifton, Lola Mae Busby; three honorary brothers, Tommy Lee Busby, Bobby Busby and William Busby (Lula Mae); two nephews she loved as sons, Dennis Kelly and Derrick Jackson; four nieces she loved as daughters, Nyree Golden, Stephanie Golden, Latrell Mobley and Kadesia Golden-Holt (Nate); her grandchildren, Jonte Brown, Terrell Simmons, Charles Howell Sr., Kevin "Mike" Howell, Rashawn Sparks, Brandy Dossy, DeAndre Jones and Fuchsia Green; 18 great-grandchildren, a hosts of nieces, a nephew, Stacey Golden (Dana Lynn); cousins and family friends.
Viewing for Mrs. Mary L. Hamilton will be held Friday, July 2, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
A funeral service for Mrs. Hamilton will be held graveside at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Friendship Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania, GA with Pastor Willie Jones officiating.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social-distancing will be enforced at the funeral home and graveside services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
