Mrs. Nancy J. Colgan

Mrs. Nancy J. Colgan, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at her home at Willow Pond in Statesboro, Georgia.
Nancy, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., had a loving marriage to Mr. Harry J. Colgan for nearly 40 years, residing in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Hagerstown, Md. She lived seven years in Hilton Head Island, S.C., prior to relocating to Statesboro. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; and her twin sister, Patricia Roadway of Mountain Top, Pa. She was the daughter of Ruth and Charles O'Hare, also of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Colgan leaves memories to be cherished by her children, Keith and Denise Colgan of Statesboro, Ga., Mariann and Reid Harper of Centreville, Va.; and her grandchildren, Ashley and Victor Lee of Wilmington, N.C., Chelsea Colgan of Atlanta, Ga., Grant Colgan of Statesboro, Ga., Christy Harper and Cole Harper, both of Centreville, Va.
Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro, the United Methodist Women's Dreta Sharpe Circle and the O.M.D. Women's Thursday Lunch Group. She spent many years volunteering for various charitable organizations. Nancy was a kind and generous person as well as a good friend to many.
A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Colgan at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro, 101 South Main Street, Statesboro, Ga., with the Rev. Jimmy Cason presiding.
The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall after the service.
