Thomas Wilson Obituary
Born on May 2, 1949, in Statesboro, Ga., to the late Perry and Carry Wilson, Tommy grew up most of his life in the Stilson area, where he built his own family and career. Tommy had much love for his wife, Betty Wilson, of 55 years, and his two sons, Stacy Wilson and Stephen Wilson.
He had a successful career, working 20 years with Great Dane, followed by 20 years with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
During all of his years, Tommy enjoyed fishing, boating and camping with his wife and two boys and then was able to share that love and joy with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But when there was down time, there were always westerns on the TV.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Carry Wilson; and siblings, Janie Pope (James) and Jeff Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Scherback Wilson; sons, Stacy Wilson (Amy) and Stephen Wilson (Heather); grandchildren, Amber Foss (Louis), Logan Wilson (Anna), Hunter Howell, Jordyn Wilson, Hannah Williams (Brandon), Preston Finch and Carleigh Finch; great-grandchildren, Wrenley Foss, Colt Williams and Bodie Williams; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Monday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Dixon officiating.
Interment will be in the Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooklet.
Pallbearers will be Logan Wilson, Hunter Howell, Louis Foss, Leslie Teston, Christopher Teston and Stan Cooper.
