Adeline Hallo Obituary

Adeline Marie Hallo Sept. 2, 1926-Feb. 3, 2009 Adeline Marie Hallo, age 82, peacefully passed away at home on February 3, 2009. She was born September 2, 1926 in Hutto, Texas to Monnie and Ebba Johnson. Adeline was baptized at Hutto Lutheran Church, and was later confirmed by the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in 1939. She graduated from Round Rock High School in 1944 and then attended college at Nixon-Clay Business College. In addition to being a homemaker, Adeline held a number of employment positions. None were more fulfilling than the seventeen years she and her husband Bill Hallo owned and operated "Adeline's" tavern, later renamed the "Goalpost" in Round Rock. She and Bill became life-long friends with many of their patrons. An avid Houston Astros fan, Adeline enjoyed gardening (especially growing her delicious tomatoes), fishing and a good "toddy" at 4:00 p.m. sharp each day. Adeline was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill), both her parents, and all eight of her siblings: sisters Carmen, Ruby and Doris; brothers LeRoy, Raymond, Clarence, James and Clyde. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Stasney his wife M'Lynn and their children Nicholas Stasney of Round Rock, Kyndra and Bryce Bowerman of Austin; her son, Richard Stasney of Dallas; daughter, Sharon Allen and John McGuire of Austin. Also surviving is Daniel Stasney of Buda, the father of Adeline's children. Honoring Ms. Hallo as pallbearers will be Tony Banks, Larry Koch, Daryl McGuire, Russell Montgomery, Brian Singletary and Nicholas Stasney. Adeline's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the medical care provided by Dr. Kocs and the staff at Texas Oncology of Round Rock, the caregivers and staff of Hospice Austin, and the love and support provided by numerous friends and family members during Adeline's eight month illness. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5th at the Cook-Walden/ Capital Park Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Elroy Haverlah, will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6th at the same location.

I only met Adeline on one occassion but she left an everlasting impression of being the happiest, cheerful, friendliest person. I felt like I had always known her. She made me feel so welcome. That trait was passed on to her daughter Sharon. What a wonderful friend I have in her. God Bless the family and always know God was in control.

We will miss Adeline so much. We are very grateful she came into our family. She gave so much to everyone she came into contact with. We will miss your sweet home grown tomatoes. I know she put her heart and soul into each tomato.

Sweet Adeline,
You have gone to be with Jesus, the best place ever known.
I love you and I am so thankful that I was a part of your life.
I am going to miss you so much. I’ll miss calling you to see what you were cooking for dinner, especially those calls when I would ask you how to cook something special. I am going to miss stopping by for a visit in the afternoons. Your smile always brightened up my day and your spirit gave us all hope. Thank you so much for my best friend, your beautiful daughter Sharon. Please know I will always be there for her amongst the many friends you’ll have. I will honor the past with great memories of you. I will see you in Heaven and I love you! Betsy
