Allen was several years behind me at Churchill. Even so, his presence was known to many of us upper-classman. His impressive size and football skills were surely noteworthy, but that is not what impressed me about Allen Rickman. Even as a young man in high school Allen was gentile and kind and soft spoken. The world is a little bit lesser place without him. May his soul and the souls of all the departed rest in the nearer presence of God.

I had the honor and pleasure of becoming friends with the Rickman brothers all the way back in little league. Robert and Allen were a head taller than all the other kids and I was always glad they were on our side. We all ended up on the track team at Churchill HS and I was again glad they were on our side. Both were standouts in shot put and discus. Their father, who had also been a star athlete in his day, took time off work in the afternoons to teach me hurdling techniques. Glad to say his efforts paid off at the district meet in '72. Thanks so much Mr. Rickman.
I am very sorry to hear of Allen's passing. Simply a great guy and a great family. Prayers to all. He will be missed.

Allen was my friend since 1st grade. Hunting rabbits and deer, eating tuna fish sandwiches and playing football will be my best memories. His mom and dad raised a really good young man and he carried on the same values with his family. There is good in all things. Our prayers are with his family. Kenny Fuller

It is with great sadness in my heart upon hearing of Allen's passing that I send you my condolences , it seems like just yesterday we were 7th graders playing football. I have many many fond memories of great times on and off the field with Allen, as do many of us I'm sure. I plan to do my best to be at his memorial service. RIP BIG AL. GO HORNS GO

I will always remember Allen as a gentle giant. He was always kind to everyone in high school. I will never forget his sense of humor. Although I spoke to him only a few times in college, I remember him as a friend today. He was an influence in many people's lives then, and now. Allen, we will pray for Lee and your children. We know that is what you would want us to do. Thank you for the good times. We will never forget you.

I wish to send my condolences to the Rickman family. I coached Allen at Churchill High School in 1973 and have fond memories of Allen that year. He was a fine young man and I am sure he will be missed by all his family.
