Antonio Fragosa Obituary



Antonio Fragosa Antonio Fragosa, 77, a long-time Austin resident, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005, in Ft. Worth. Born January 4, 1928, in Brownsville, Texas, Antonio was the son of Placido and Manuela Vera. His parents preceded him in death, as did his wife of 49 years, Leonila G. Fragosa, and a daughter, Mary Linda Fragosa- Cordova. Mr. Fragosa served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp in the years following WWII. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 40 years of service. Mr. Fragosa served on the Austin Telco Credit Union Board of Directors, and was active in the Austin Rifle Club, the National Rifle Association, Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Associations, and supported many other organizations. He was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Mr. Fragosa is survived by his children, Sylvia Fragosa, Antony J. Fragosa and Cynthia Fragosa- Johnston. He is also survived by his siblings, Gilberto Fragosa and wife, Tina; Irma Vera; James Vera and wife, Diana; Maria Luisa Vera, RSM; Placido Vera and wife Dolores; eight grandchildren; many other relatives and dear friends. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery. My heart and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I worked with Tony for several years in the South District (80's) Test Center. He was a great person to work around and was a mentor to many.
