(Bobbie) Davis
Barbara (Bobbie) Davis Polk, surrounded by family, went to meet Our Lord on March 6, 2016. Bobbie was born March 15,1940 in San Marcos, Texas. She graduated valedictorian from Buda High School in 1958 and remained a loyal Buda Bulldog. Bobbie began her career as a secretary at Steck-Vaughn Publishing Company and retired as the credit manager.
Bobbie married her husband of 57 years, Paul Douglas Polk, in September of 1958. They were blessed with two children. She is survived by husband, Paul, son Terry Douglas Polk and wife Jeanne Steckler Polk, daughter Denise Ann Polk Thornton and husband Robert "Chap" Thornton, grandchildren Dillon Polk and wife, Emily Hill Polk, Brandon Polk, Katelynn Thornton, Jenna Thornton and Ryder Thornton. Surviving siblings include brother, C Ray Davis and wife Beverly Farr Davis, sister Brenda Davis Burns and husband Ellis Burns, sister Colleen Davis Kieke and husband Keith Kieke. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Bobbie in death are her parents, Collis Clifford Davis and Eunice Doherty Davis, stepfather, Robert Lee Hart and brother, Robert Randall Hart.
Bobbie enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's numerous activities, including sports, 4-H and FFA. She was a regular attendant of Hays and Travis County Livestock Shows and was proud of her grandchildren's many academic and extracurricular accomplishments. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astro fan, as well as a loving and patient daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt.
Pallbearers are Dillon Polk, Brandon Polk, Ryder Thornton, Donnie Polk, Randy Anthony, Bryan Burns and David Kieke.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Barton Cemetery, Buda, Texas.
