Brittany Nabors Obituary

Brittany Kathleen Nabors Brittany Kathleen Nabors was suddenly called to be with her Lord on November 6, 2005. Brittany was born on September 17, 1986 at Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. She will be remembered for her beautiful red hair even from the moment she was born. Survivors include her parents Rick and Jill Nabors of Austin; brother, Brett Garrett Nabors of Dallas; grandmother, Joyce Hauke of Midland; uncles and aunts; Mike and Julie Nabors of Rockwall, Jeff and Sunny Hauke of Sugarland, Nancy and Larry Beaulieu of Beaumont, Janine and Larry Petersen of San Antonio and numerous cousins. Brittany was a 2005 graduate of James Bowie High School and a three-year member of the Silver Stars Drill Team. She was currently a freshman at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Brittany knew that happiness is a journey - not a destination. She exemplified this through her passion for Brad Paisley, desire to be organized and presenting every welcoming hand with her beautiful smile and encouraging nature. She loved like she'd never been hurt and danced her last dance as if no one's watching. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Riverbend Church Fellowship Hall, 4214 N. Capital of Texas Hwy. ( Loop 360) with Dr. Gordon Smith, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Zeta Tau Alpha Philanthropic Charity, The Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309. Arrangements by Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745. (512) 443-1366

Jill: I know I haven't seen or heard from you probably since Delta Zeta days, but Lizann Shari Orr told me about your daughter. Words can not express the deep sympathy I feel for you and your family. I live in Austin and want you to know if there is absolutely ANYTHING you need, please let me know. Just know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Kathy Jones Lockhart

Rick and Jill,

It is so hard for us to understand why the Lord decided to bring Brittney to his side so soon. Brittney was a wonderful person, everyone could not help but to smile when they were around her. You will always be in my prayers, and my deepest sympathy to you and your family!

I remember the first day i met brittany in 7th grade. She was so welcoming and one of the nicest girls i have ever met. Her presence just made people happy and she gave off such a good vibe and was so sweet that you couldnt help but love her. She was one of those people who excepts everyone for who they are. I am very sadden by her passing and i will never forget her.

Mr. and Mrs. Nabors,

I am a cousin to a close friend of Brittany's (Lindsay). I also grew up in Nacogdoches. I wanted to express our sympathies for this tremendous loss. Brittany was, without a doubt, a wonderful daughter, friend, and sister. She obviously made quite an impact on all those she met. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to cross paths. Our thoughts are with you as you go through this trying journey.

Jill and Rick....

It's been a long time since our paths have crossed. We read with great sorrow about your tragic loss. As parents, we know this is the most difficult, painful experience you will ever have. I wish there were some words to ease your grief. I hope that having a vast number of friends, even the ones from long ago, caring for you so much and sending loving thoughts will help just a bit. It's obvious from all these lovely notes that Brittany was a wonderful young woman. I do remember that beautiful red hair as she toddled around Menchaca PTA meetings. God bless you both and your entire family. Jamie also sends her sympathies to you and Brett.

Rick and Jill,

I sat with my daughters (Alissa and Lindsay) Sunday night and reflected on the many happy memories they had dancing with Brittany. I told them the Lord needed a "red-headed angel" and now has the most vibrant, beautiful red-headed dancer at his side. May you find peace in knowing she leaves so many happy memeries with those she touched - and that was many. Our prayers are with you.

I didn't know Brittany like my other ZTA sisters. I had a chance to meet her on the night of our chapter retreat. She sat next to me in the back seat of the car. She kept asking me questions about ZTA and it meant a great deal to me as a senior. It made me feel very special and needed. I will never forget that feeling that she gave me for just a few questions. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and of course my ZTA sisters. She will be greatly missed by all of us. God Bless, Jennifer Miller

I'm going to miss you girl soo stinkin much! I am so blessed for the amount of time I was able to spend with you and get to know, I only wish it could have been for longer. But I know that God has a plan for everything even if we don't understand it, and I can only imagine the amazing things you will do even though you aren't with us anymore. I will never forget your beautiful smile and how you lit up any room you walked into. I am so proud to call you my sister and know that Zeta is forever, and forever will I love and miss you!

Brittany was an awesome girl. She could light up a room with her smile. She always looked at everything from a positive perspective and always made the best of everything that happened. You could be having a bad day and Brittany could make you laugh and smile. She just had that personality that made you look and her and just go "wow." Brittany will be greatly missed and always remembered in my heart.

Mr. & Mrs. Nabors,

I had the privelege of meeting Brittany only for a short time in Zeta. She was always watching out for me, and bringing me back down to earth when things seemed unbearable. Her infectious smile will always be remembered. She was an amazing person that words cannot describe. My last memory was of her & I dancing together at an exchange for Zeta, and what a wonderful memory it is. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Brett as well. She will be missed, and Jesus sure is a lucky guy to have her by his side.

Brittany had the ability to walk into the room and make my heart smile. We enjoyed being silly together and sarcastic. She's definately taken a little piece of me with her just as I have with her. I'm pleased to know Britt is watching over me and my sisters because we all love her and miss her so. We'll see you soon stinker!

Brittany was amazing. I had a sweet privelge to meet her at Jack Camp. She was in my family group with our mama Sherrie. She was a blast. She was the girlie girl out of the group and had a smile so big that made me envy her so much. Everyone liked her. She had such a way with people. She had a kind heart, giving and always willing to be there for you. I have learned so much from her in such a short period of time. She has taught me so much. I love her and will miss her dearly!

I feel honored to have known Brittany, even if it was for only a couple of months. I'm glad I was able to call her my sister. You raised such a wonderful daughter; she could brighten up a room just by walking in. My favorite memory of Brittany was when we were picking up trash for trash pick up and we pretended like we stumbled onto a murder seen. Also I’m going to miss the way she always made everything so fun and happy.

Mr and Mrs Nabors,

I was one of Brittany's sisters in Zeta Tau Alpha. Brittany was known for lighting up the room the moment she walked in. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and nothing but kind words to say. I do not know anyone that did not just love her to death. The both of you must be wonderful people to have raised such an amazing and beautiful daughter. You and your family are in my prayers everyday!
