Gayle Sabitt Obituary
1952 - 2014
Gayle Sabitt, 61, of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, after a long battle with lymphoma.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1952, to Stanley and Lucille Renick in Kenosha, Wis. She was married to Jeff Sabitt on Sept. 7, 1986, at the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, Ill., on a sunny day. She spread her love through her famous cooking, putting into practice her belief that "food is love." Gayle loved spending time outdoors walking her dog, reading the Sunday newspaper, and tending to her flowers. She had a passion for the arts, which she passed on to her daughter, a graduate student in art history.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughter, Claire; brothers, Jim (Anita) and Gary; nieces and nephews, Jim (Angela), Anne Marie, Scott, Steven, Michelle and Nicolle.
She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Gladys; father, Stanley, and mother, Lucille.
A visitation in celebration of Gayle's life will be held at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home at 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. A service will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society via www.cancer.org would be greatly appreciated. For info. 847-540-8871 or www.ahlgrimffs.com.
