Catherine Angela Gerber Wright, 86, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 3, 2025.
Born February 12, 1939, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, to Nicholas and Berdetta (Lutterman) Gerber, Catherine was the youngest of four children. She grew up in Hales Corners, WI, and later raised her three daughters in Racine, WI, where she began a career in sales, including retail and real estate.
In 1979, Catherine moved to Austin, TX, where she met her husband Billy E. Wright, fell in love and they married in 1981- now(44 years) A natural people person, she turned her love of dolls into both a business and a way to give back, donating dolls each year to Brown Santa.
Catherine will be remembered for her humor, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rosemary Kos, Berdetta "Betta" Kies, and Donald "Butch" Gerber. She is survived by her husband, Billy E. Wright; daughters Dianne VanderWeel (John), Valerie Goeppert (Harald), and Laura Coronado; Stepdaughters, Deborah Dobernecki, Elizabeth Wright, and Christine Kelm (Charles); 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, October 19, 4–6 p.m.
Service: Monday, October 20, 10 a.m.
Location: Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home
