Christakis Ioannou Obituary

Christakis E. Ioannou Christakis E. Ioannou, 74, of Austin passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008. He was born September 25, 1933 in Paphos, Cyprus to Katrina (Christodoulou) and Efstathios Ioannou. Christakis enjoyed visiting with all of his friends - a Greek coffee on Tuesdays and breakfast with his retired Austin Energy friends on Wednesdays. He loved hunting, fishing and both of his countries - Cyprus and the USA. He became a US Citizen in 1974. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kitty McLane; sister, Petroula Papademetriou; brother, Simos E. Ioannou; nieces, Katrina Charalambides, Irene Papaleontiou, and Kathy Ioannou; nephews, Michael Papademetriou and Efstathios Papademetriou; and great-nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Seton Hospital and Brighton Gardens for their special care. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
