Daniel Dippel Obituary

Daniel Lee Dippel Daniel Lee Dippel ended his brave battle with cancer in the early morning hours of November 3, 2005. He was fortunate to have his loving wife of 13 years, Michelle Rogers Dippel, by his side. He was 35 years old. Daniel loved life and lived with vigor and enthusiasm. His presence was immediately felt the moment he entered a room. You need only to spend a moment with him before noticing his twinkling eyes and mischievous grin. Spend more time with Daniel and you couldn't help but notice his big, soft heart. Daniel was fearless. He was not afraid of any challenge facing him as long as he had Michelle by his side. He was one of those friends you could call in the middle of the night, and never hear mention of it again. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, and simply spending time with his friends and family. He could never resist a good game of Stick or a coconut pie. Most of all he enjoyed being a father to his precious 5-year old son Grayson Joseph Dippel who will forever share his father's mischievous grin and brave but tender heart. Daniel was a native Austinite born on April 6, 1970. He graduated from Crockett High School in 1988. He attended Southwest Texas State University and the University of Texas where he studied archaeology. It was during his undergraduate work that he took his first international trip and he has spent most of his time planning more. His large circle of friends includes many childhood friends from Manchaca, Texas. Daniel's family was very proud to see him realize his dream of owning his own successful historic home restoration company, G. Joseph Restoration. Daniel is survived by his wife, Michelle Dippel; son, Grayson Dippel all of Buda; mother, Grace Dippel, father, Freddie Dippel and wife Donna, all of Kyle; brother, David Dippel and wife Leslie of Austin; sister, Deanna Sartin and husband Darren of Austin; brother Derek Dippel and Heather Johnson of Kyle; brother, Darron Dippel and wife Inger DeBill of Cedar Park; brother, Damon Dippel and Monique MacDonald of Houston; sister, Devyn Dippel of Kyle; step sister, Chelsea Bordovsky of Austin; step brother, Dustin Bordovsky of San Marcos; brother in law, Chris Voeltz of Austin; brother in law David Rogers, of Sautry, England; brother-in-law, Louis Roger of Sautry, England, sister-in-law, Laura Rogers of Sautry, England, and nephews, nieces, and friends too numerous to describe. The family invites you to celebrate Daniel's life by attending a viewing at the Harrell Funeral Home on November 4, 2005 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Led by Daniel's cousin, Father Keith Koehl, funeral services will be held on November 5, 2005 at the Harrell Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. An interment service will immediately follow at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger, Texas, the church where Daniel and Michelle (as well as his parents) were married. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you provide contributions to a fund in support of Grayson Joseph Dippel at Balcones Bank in Buda, Texas by contacting the branch manager or the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Although Daniel leaves this earth and our hearts are heavy with grief, we take great comfort in knowing that now he will be with us always. Arrangements by Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trial, Austin, Texas 78745 (512) 443-1366.

Fred & Grace;

We are so sorry to learn about Daniel. Having lost our son Curtis in Iraq this year, we can tell you that Dan is not gone, he's just on the other side, wishing he could tell you not to worry, he's OK.

I met Daniel once, when he brought Devyn to visit my daughter in the hospital. We were all tired and Krystina was in a lot of pain, but Daniel cheered her up - he cheered us all up. I'll never forget that husky voice and the fun, loving way in which he entered the room. And when he left, he left that presence behind. It was a true gift when we needed it the most. I didn't know he was sick again. I wish I could have returned the favor.

Danny was one of my first friends when we moved to Texas almost 30 years ago. I will never forget the time we found a snake in the sand pit at his house. Though it was many years ago, it is such a vivid memory for me. You couldn't help but love Danny. You are all in our hearts and prayers.
