Gone, but not forgotten. Taking this time to remember David allows me to reflect on where I have come from my the low point in my life, and where I am right now. David helped me be the person I am today.

A coach. A confessor. A healer. A friend. And such a good, good man who had an amazing ability to connect with people at their most vulnerable. I am beside myself in grief and can't even imagine what his wife and best friends are going through. God bless them. I trust that the priceless counseling he instilled in me over the years will sustain me. I can let go. May the loving goodness he brought to so many people carry him to everlasting peace. Goodbye.

I'm going to miss David. I miss him already. One of the few clients I consistently met for a meal to talk as much about random, interesting topics as about his web site and marketing. From my perspective, he valued connection and meaning above most all else. He truly enjoyed making a difference in peoples' lives.

David's compassion made him a wonderful therapist and a good friend. In the past 20 years I have been able to rely on his good sense and dependability as a business partner. We were able to consult with each other on therapy questions as well as business issues. I miss his steady counsel.

We will all miss his skeptical take on most politicians and his courage in letting others know his opinions. His letters to the editor of the Austin American Statesman were a source of pride with him. He enjoyed being heard as a citizen of this city, and was glad when others shared his views.

Most of all, the many people he has helped over the years will miss his wisdom his love. We all miss him already.

Vaya con Dios, David.
