Don Johnston Obituary

Don Alan Johnston, 70, passed away on March 17, 2025, in Austin, Texas.

Born on December 3, 1954, Don was a proud Texan throughout his life. He began his education at Rosemont Elementary and graduated from Sunset High School before attending Texas Tech University. His professional journey began in the jewelry business in Houston in 1975. He later transitioned to a management role with Coca-Cola in Austin before returning to the jewelry industry. Eventually, Don found his final professional calling in Austin's hospitality sector.

Don was known for his generous spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others. His greatest passion was simply loving and supporting those around himan enduring legacy that touched many lives.

He is lovingly remembered by his older brother Jay Johnston and wife Jacqueline; nephews Jordan and wife Julie, Jedd and wife Jacky, Jake and wife Jodi, Kiley and wife Jill, and Jared Cole; great-nieces Pearl, Emma, Ellery, and Sadie; great-nephews William, Wyatt, Augustus, Broc, and Chase. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde C. Johnston and June D. Johnston.

A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held on April 24, 2025, at Cover 3 (one of Don's favorite's) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Austin.

In honor of Don's generous nature, charitable donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
