Eddie Baker Obituary

Eddie Clyde "Snuffy" Baker, 68, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Born on January 19, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, Snuffy lived a full and vibrant life rooted deeply in family, tradition, and the great outdoors.
Snuffy was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. He grew up in Texas with a strong sense of community and a love for the land that would shape much of his life. In his youth, he found excitement in bull riding-a passion that reflected his adventurous spirit and fearless nature.
A lifelong hunter and fisherman, Snuffy cherished time spent outdoors. He often shared venison with family and friends, a gesture that spoke to his generosity and connection to the traditions he held dear. Whether it was casting a line or tracking game through the woods, he found peace and purpose in nature.
Snuffy's love for his family was unwavering. He especially doted on his three grandsons-Thomas, Mason, and Logan-taking them on memorable vacations filled with water parks and camping adventures. These moments were treasured by all who shared them and are now cherished memories that will live on through generations.
He also enjoyed life's simpler pleasures: a hearty meal paired with a frozen swirl margarita, dancing at country saloons with loved ones, and sharing stories with friends. His joy for dancing lit up many evenings spent in the company of those he cared about most.
Professionally, Snuffy worked in construction throughout his life. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Champion Site Prep, Inc., where he contributed his skills and work ethic to projects across the region.
Snuffy is survived by his son Carlos Baker and wife Heather; grandchildren Thomas, Mason, and Logan; brother Charles Baker and wife Jenny; sister Cynthia Poggemoeller and her husband Patrick; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father Eddie Baker; mother Nelda Baker; brother Carol Baker; and beloved pets Buddy, Little Bit, and Baby.
Snuffy's legacy is one of strength, laughter, loyalty to family-and a deep appreciation for life's wild beauty. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Visitation will be held on November 25, 2025, from 06:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home 1700 E Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Central Texas SPCA of Leander, TX at https://www.centraltexasspca.org/.
