Ezra Van Polter

1996 - 2015

Ezra Van Polter was the quintessential barefoot boy with cheeks of tan who grew into a much-loved young man. Ezra was born in Austin, Texas to David and Robbin Robertson Polter on July 19, 1996 and left his many friends and family on March 28, 2015. In his 18 years with us, Ezra packed so much in. He loved the outdoors and was at his happiest skiing on the lake with his family, fishing with his dad, sky diving on his 18th birthday with his mom and sister, playing lacrosse, scuba diving and sailing the Caribbean with friends and family. His signature, ever present big grin was only surpassed by his bigger heart. His heart was always open and his demeanor sweet. Ezra was a compassionate friend, a listener and a connector. Maya Angelou said it and Ezra personified this "….people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." We will never forget how Ezra made us feel.

Ezra would want us to have joy in our lives as we continue to live. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Ezra's life on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 5:00 pm on the grounds of Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas. He is survived by his parents, his sister Mariel Polter, his grandparents Lucy and Daniel Polter MD and the Honorable Pat Robertson of Dallas and the late Mary Marr Robertson, aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.
