Harold Burditt Obituary

Harold Elmo Burditt, Jr.
Harold Elmo Burditt, Jr. passed to his heavenly home February 23, 2021. Hal was born in Del Rio, Texas, December 4, 1951, to Harold and Cathryn Burditt. At the ripe old age of two days, Hal took his first plane trip with his doctor to Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio to remedy an esophagus issue! He returned home to his anxious parents at ten days old. Hal attended North Heights Elementary School, Del Rio Jr. High, and Del Rio High School until 1968 when he moved with his family to Austin. Hal was a 1970 graduate of Lanier High School. He attended Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos graduating with a B.A. in German. Hal lived in Austin, Dallas, Grapeland, and Montalba, Texas as well as Sevierville, Tennessee. He spent 6 months in West Berlin during college and traveled to Germany many times after that. Wildcats Forever! Gott sei mit dir, Ruhe in Frieden.
Hal is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Lillian Burditt Wood of Grapeland, sisters: Kay Gooch of Austin and Jan Floyd of Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Rebecca's mother Vicki Burrow of Grapeland.
A family service will be held in Montalba, Texas Sunday, April 25, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BookSpring.org to help promote literacy in Central Texas.
