Family-Placed Obituary

Jack Leslie Wesenberg Jack Leslie Wesenberg died Sunday, September 19, 2005. He was born January 3, 1923 to Arthur and Laura Wesenberg, and was a lifelong resident of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors are his long time friend and companion, Ray D. Robertson; sister, Helen Sherrill of Bastrop; nieces, Leslie Zalles of Georgetown and Linda Kruege (Larry) of Granger; nephews, Dr. David Sherrill of Honolulu and Jim Sherrill of Cedar Park; special friend and caregiver, Steve Estrada; cousins, Laura and Ed Jackson of Corpus Christi, Connie Short and Peggy Coffield of Rockdale. Jack graduated from Austin High School and the University of Texas with a business degree and a minor in voice. His younger years were spent swimming at Deep Eddy and singing as a soloist at First United Methodist Church. He also performed at Saengerrunde Hall the Austin Civic Theater and sang at weddings and local clubs. It was said that the Texas Legislature could not open till Jack sang. Jack served his country in the Air Corps during WWII. He worked at UT and retired from Farmers Insurance. He was an avid bridge player and was a frequent visitor in his later years at the Senior Activity Center. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Obituary and guestbook available online at wcfish.com
