James "David"
James Humphreys "David", 63, of Cedar Park passed away April 1st after a long battle with Alzheimer's. David was born in Waco, Texas on August 26th 1952 and grew up in Austin. He was a 1970 graduate of Reagan High School. He started working for IBM where he worked for 37 years. David loved girls fastpitch softball, he coached the select team Austin Silver Travelers from 88 - 94. He then went off to umpire tournaments for high school teams and even some college teams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jo Humphreys and father, James Edward Humphreys. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Humphreys and daughters Christina Collins and Melanie Mitchell. His grandchildren Bailey Post, Timothy Collins, Eliza Collins and Zachary Collin. His three siblings Larry & Charlie Humphreys and Kay Manis. Along with his caregiver Art Moore.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9th at Beck Funeral Home, 1700 East FM 1431, Cedar Park, TX 78613.

David was one of my good friends from Reagan HS. Just Saw this post from the HS Alumni. Many good mémories and a few sad ones too. His mother Billie loaned me money to pay for my class ring. RIP buddy.

I worked with Dave on numerous softball fields. I met him as a coach and then learned from him as a softball umpire. He was a GREAT mentor and passionately loved his teams and the game. Thanks Dave!!

I was a couple of years younger than David, but as a running buddy of his brother Larry, I spent a lot of time over at the Humphreys' house back in our high school years. David played football with us on occasion and worked weekends with us cleaning up the kitchen at Mrs. Johnson's Bakery. Even in the midst of that miserable job, David's sense of humor kept me laughing. My memories of David will always bring a smile. God Bless the Humphreys.
