Janiece, a beautiful kind, gentle and loving wife, mother and best friend left us unexpectedly on December 18, 2016. She was born in Clarendon, Texas on July 16, 1947 to the late John Earnest and Kitty Ruth Eudy. Her brother John Harrison Eudy lives in Amarillo. After attending grade school and junior high in Amarillo her family moved to Canyon, Texas and she graduated from Canyon High School and was a Chi Omega at WT. Janiece and Henry Meyer of Canyon were married on December 23, 1966 by JP Bonita Potter in Amarillo. After Henry graduated from Texas A&M Vet School they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and lived in that area several years while Henry was in the US Army Veterinary Corps and then in private practice. Children Robert Jeffrey and Susan Janiece were welcomed into the family during that time. At that time Janiece was a shy person but that all went away as she worked part time in a busy veterinary practice with Henry. Eventually Henry and Janiece permanently moved to Austin and acquired and developed Riverside Veterinary Clinic in 1974. Janiece became a valued receptionist, bookkeeper and surgical and anesthetic assistant. She worked at the clinic for almost 20 years while also raising her family and being a solid rock for Henry. One of the great gifts she gave to Henry was an appreciation for cats. She constantly was helping tiny orphaned kittens at home. She leaves behind a cherished grandson, Devon Robert, who she helped raise in the Meyer home. In lieu of flowers donating to local pet rescue groups in her name would mean a lot to us left behind. Both Austin Pets Alive (www.austinpetsalive.org) and The Leisure Cat Animal Rescue (http://www.tlcanimalrescue.org) are great examples. She will be cremated. No memorial service or funeral is planned in the near future.
