Johnny M. Garcia of Round Rock passed away, at home, on Thursday, November 27, 2003, after an extended illness. He was born December 8, 1933, in Jonah, Texas. His parents Incarnacion Garcia and Josefina Mendez; brother, Narciso Garcia and daughter, Lois Garcia-Kemp, and loving wife, Guadalupe Barrera Garcia preceded him in death. Surviving him are his sister, Leonor Ramirez and her husband Roy R. Ramirez; brother, Albert Garcia; daughters, Patti G. Williams, Jane Swinnen and husband, Thomas R. Shirrie Garcia, Lori Garcia-Alvarado, Patricia Garcia; sons, George A. Garcia, Mike A. Garcia, Larry H. Garcia and Robert Garza; numerous grand and great-grandchildren. The Telander Brothers employed Johnny in Central Texas as farm hand and sharecroppper during the 1960's. Prior to this time Johnny worked as farm hand on the Emmett Prinz farm in the late 1950's. In the early 1970's Johnny began working as maintenance man in the Public Works Department of the City of Round Rock, where he retired after 20 years of service in 1992. Johnny is remembered as devoted and loving father and grandfather to his family, and to those who knew him as friend, or coworker, as gentle, fun loving, generous man who's commitment to work and friendship were unquestionable. Services will beheld a the 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2003, in the Chapel at Beck Funeral Home . 15709 Ranch Road 620, with graveside services and interment shortly thereafter at the Round Rock Cemetery, on Sam Bass Road.
