Jose SANCHEZ Obituary
Jose Lucas Sanchez passed away on March 31, 2015. After struggling with his health for many years he is now at peace. Lucas was born in Santander, Spain on July 11, 1940. Son of Agustin and Carmen Sanchez. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Laura, two children Rick Sanchez and Veronica Wohltman, their spouses Kara and John Wohltman and his grandchildren Eliza, Calliope and Ava. He is also survived by his sister Maria del Carmen, her husband Hector Del Monte and their children Armando, Sandra and David. At age 19, Lucas went to Escuela Nautica in Coruna,Spain. After years on the sea, logging the required days on a ship, and passing his final exam he became a Ships Captain (Master Mariner) at age 31. He loved many things - wood working, computers, photography, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes, often unable to get to the punchline without laughing. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at the University Catholic Center 2010 University Ave, Austin, TX 78705 at 2pm on Friday, April 10, 2015.
