(03/04/2003) Kurt A. Mays Kurt A. Mays, age 38, of Elgin, died Saturday in a tragic automobile accident. Mr. Mays was born February 1, 1965, in Austin, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin and was a devoted Christian husband and father. He was a member of the Oxford and Bucks re- enactment group which would re- enact World War II battles. He was preceded in death by his father, Abe Mays, Jr.; his grandparents, Abe Mays, Sr. and Donna Mays; and his uncle, William Mays. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Lisa Mays; a son, Shane Patton Mays, both of Elgin; mother, Diane Fowler and husband, Bob of Wimberly; sister, Kim Ingram and husband, Sam of Round Rock; and numerous other family members and friends. Memorials may he made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 109 North Ave. B, Elgin, Texas 78621. There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Newby- Jones Family Funeral Home in Elgin. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Elgin with interment following at the Elgin Cemetery, near Elgin. Kurt, We Love You And You Will Be Greatly Missed.
