Libby Davis Obituary
Libby Davis, Mom, was born 9-14-33 and died 4-9-2021. She's a native of Volente and owned Libby's Bar & Grill. She was previously a Tex. Hwy. Dept. employee.
She was known for telling you like it was. She loved music, beer, smoking, dancing, and was always the life of the party. Grandma never walked into a place as a guest, she walked in like she owned the place. She was meaner than a pissed off rattlesnake, but if you ever needed help, she'd be the first one to give you the shirt off her back. She helped create the Volente Volunteer Fire Dept. along with other family members.
She is survived by her children, Shell, Brandy, and Shane Davis, 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Margaret and Carmen. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Charles and Ronny Davis.
Mom was dearly loved by her family and many, many friends. We will miss her in so many ways. Heroes come and go but LEGENDS never die. Services will be held at Austin Memorial Park at 1:00pm Saturday the 17TH of April.

I knew Libby (and Charlie)way back in the late 60s as my grandparent´s neighbors. They were "Mr. and Mrs. Davis" to me, as I was still a kid. I would often spend a good part of my summers with my grandparents in Volente. Ronnie and I became buddies (and I kinda had a kid crush on Brandy). Charlie and Libby were always really good people. Fast forward about 35-40 years and I saw Libby again at "Libby´s." Other than a few wrinkles, she hadn´t changed a bit. I introduced her to my wife and we had a great visit. It was so good to see she was the same ol Libby. I´m glad to see she had a long, full life. And the obit captured her perfectly. My condolences to y´all´s family.

Libby was a special lady & friend. Definitely one of a kind...you always knew where you stood with her, she told it as it was. I was mystified by Libby & was determined to make her a friend, as I knew her sister Carmen, & love her. Libby turned out to be a good friend that I never regretted. Loved her stories & all the history of Volente & her family. Loved her spunk & vitality she had for life.
I shall miss her & happy that she is with her beloved Charlie whom she was so anxious to see & be with again.
