Marie DIAL Obituary

DIAL, Marie Claire
Marie Claire Dial, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on May 2, 2015, at the age of 78.

Marie was born in Houston, Texas on June 29, 1936 to August and Arthemise Baldowski. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1954. Marie soon met the love of her life, Donald (Don) Bruce Dial, also from the Houston area. They married on August 31, 1955 and subsequently moved to Austin where they purchased their present home in Fairview Park, overlooking downtown Austin, and where they raised four children and shared a remarkable and loving marriage of almost 60 years.

While Marie worked in various jobs over the years, mostly providing loving day care services to Austin infants, her major commitment was to being the finest wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that she could be. She assumed the roles of classroom mom, scout leader and chief transporter for her very active kids. Marie had a natural love of beauty and art and she never failed to have a yard full of colorful blooms and an artist's canvas in the works! She most enjoyed the years when she took part in women's art groups, taking art lessons and attending workshops around the Austin area. Also among Marie's greatest joys were family vacations and traditional family and holiday gatherings.

Marie is survived by her husband Don Dial, sister Wanda Gilbert; children, Glenn Dial (Heidi), David Dial (Marla), Karen Sperry (Jack) and Larry Dial; grandson, Robert Dial (Jennifer), great grandson Dawson Dial, as well as other extended family and relatives, mostly from the central Texas area.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, August and Arthemise Baldowski, her sister, Sylvia Dandy and her brother-in-law, Ronnie Gilbert.

In keeping with the wishes of Marie and Don, a private family celebration of Marie's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, which appropriately falls on Mother's Day weekend. A digital tribute highlighting Marie's life can be found at www.forevermissed.com/marie-claire-dial/#about.

She was a loving mother and grandmother..her example of being a participating and entertaining grandmother to Robert Murray inspired me to be that grandmother to my 5 grandchildren and 2 great grand babies..

worked with Marie at a daycare in the late 80s. She was wonderful to work with, and a great listener. I couldnt have had a kinder more compassionate mentor. I know this is late, but I want to acknowledge her importance in my life.

She was an inspiration to other grandmothers ...play games, have conversations and listen to them, enjoy every moment you have with them...Robert has special memories with her and I thank God that he gave her to him...love Auntie Rhonda

Don, I just received word today that Marie had passed away. She was a classmate at Robert E. Lee H.S. and I remember her as a quiet, and happy young lady. My prayers are with you and your family.

This poem reminds me of special people at one time in my life that still are near..whether in the fragrance of a flower, a song I hear , a bird pecking on the window ...she will always continue to touch you..thoughts , prayers and our love Jay & Rhonda.........And if I should go before you know that part of me still remains..You will not see me; yet I will be there walking beside you...You will not touch me; yetI will live in your heart and memory always. Have faith that we will one day walk hand in hand in eternity. Until then, live your life for life is good.....And know that I am with you.

Mrs. Dial was a loving and kind mother-in-law to our sister and a fantastic grandmother to our nephew. She will live on in the stories and memories Robert Murray will pass to his beautiful son Dawson. No words can express the thankfulness we feel for the love she gave to our family and hers. May she rest in peace and God bless the Dial family.
