I was Mark’s client for almost six years, and during that time, he literally saved my life. I was still seeing Mark, and I will miss our sessions. He was a wonderful therapist, with unbelievable insight into people. After several devastating losses, he gave me the guidance, advice and support to begin healing. He “held my hand” and walked beside me during these very difficult and emotional years, never judging me or my feelings. I just wanted to let you know that your son, brother, dad made a difference in my life, and I will always be grateful he was the therapist taking emergency calls that day in October 1999, and I had the opportunity to have the best. I share your loss and offer my sympathy to each of you. Mark was my therapist and my friend.

I hired Mark to work for me years ago at Shoal Creek Hospital. When it was so overwhelming, he was there to support me and the others who worked with us. Through the years we continued to hug and smile at each other each time we met. I hope that his journey back home was a good one.

Mark was just like a part of our family for the past eight years. He has known my son, Sam, since he was three years old. He taught Sam to play chess when he was 4 or five. He helped us cope with divorce, being attacked by wild dogs and trying to fit in at the elementary school. We both loved him very much and feel a profound loss.He was a pillar of strength and support. A provider of good advice and workable strategies. He was the non-parent parent for Sam. A safe and trusting friend where he could complain about both parents, and learn about relationships. He was our friend and we planned on having many more years with him. We will miss him forever.

I had considered Mark my best freind for many years. I can not think of a higher compliment to a person. Since then, I have left Austin but everytime I have returned, he was there for me. Mark, I am so sad to lose you. Know I will always love you and miss you.

The world always seems to lose the brightest stars all too soon. I was so sad when my mother told me the news. David, I havent seen you in so so long. We were attached at the hip for a while. Back when we were so little. I am sorry I missed the service in Austin tonite. My father said it was good to see you. And my mother wishes she had been there. But she carries on your fathers work. My heart goes out to you in the sad times. If you need to talk, look me up. I am always here.

Blake David, Your dad and I shared some really good times! I am not sure if you remember me, but he and I lived together in 1993-94... I miss his drama and saying "Lucy, I am home". I remember he also liked Mickey Mouse and friends!

I am sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you and your family.

My sons, Nick and Tom, and I knew Mark three short years, we saw him for bereavement therapy after my husband died. I can't tell you what a profound emptiness I feel knowing that he is gone and we won't be able to share our lives with him anymore, nor his wisdom with us. He always had such an original and positive outlook and passed that along with every visit. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his son, and other family members.

Mark, you were the epitome of a good man. This world was so lucky to have you, even for just that short while. When I think of you you will always make me smile. I'll miss you terribly.

I am very sad to hear of Mark's passing. He is someone you think will always be there when you need him. He helped me get through some very difficult times, gave me the tools I need to get through all the other difficult times that will come along. He is a kind, generous, selfless, witty man. He will be dearly missed by me and so many others. Thank you, Mark. See you later.

I am so sad to hear that the world has lost one of the "good ones". Mark was a co-worker, a friend, and for my children and myself, a therapist who helped us through some really hard times over the course of several years and life events. It is hard to imagine that he won't be available, at the end of a phone line, whenever I need him for advice or encouragement...and that I won't see that engaging, rueful smile again. Mark will be missed. He did good things during his years on Earth...his family should be very, very proud. I hope they find comfort that Mark was regarded highly by so many. My deepest sympathies.
