Matthew Varuola Obituary
(June 27, 1989 – December 22, 2020)
Matthew was born on June 27, 1989 in Carrollton, Texas to Beth and Joe Varuola. After graduating from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas in 2008, Matt joined the Marines and completed the Infantry Mortarman course in Camp Pendleton, California in 2010. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Matt studied at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin and graduated in 2014. Matt was a masterful cook and worked at several fine-dining establishments in Austin and the surrounding area. Matt loved to travel, especially to visit his extended family in Missouri, where he felt at home in the close-knit community.
Matt is survived by his mother Beth Varuola, sister Nicole Kelly (John), niece (Regan), aunt (Carole), and cousins (Derek, Dustin, and Drew).
A memorial service will be held at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church located at 6571 FM 970, Florence, TX 76527 in April. He will be laid to rest next to his father at a later date in 2021.
Matt will always be remembered as a great friend, brother, and cousin, and his beautiful smile will never be forgotten. You are invited to share a message online on the guestbook at www.ramseyfuneral.com.
