Mikey and Yoli Amr "Lord make me an instrument of you peace; where there is hatred let me sow love: where there is injury pardon; where there is doubt faith; where there is despair hope; where there is darkness light; and where there is sadness joy. O Divine Master grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." Mikey and Yoli Amr, of Round Rock, passed away on February 23, 2011. They were the founders of Gumbo's and owners of Mama Roux's. They were happily married for over 25 years. He is survived by his parents Mohammed and Wadhad Amr. They are also survived by six siblings; Tsair Amr, Riyad Amr, Niele Amr, Mona Amr, Elibeth Cordoba, and Maria Claudia Cuartas Cordoba: nine nieces and nephews; Murad Amr, Jamile Amr, Robyn Amr, Heather Amr, Lucia Cordoba, Monica Cordoba, Liliana Cordoba, Alyia Kevan, and Christina Johnson. They are also survived by their furry children Mona Lisa, Twinkie and Sheba. They enjoyed good cuisine, good company, their families' travels around the U.S., and assisting with humanitarian efforts wherever needed. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, with a memorial service celebrating Mikey and Yoli's lives following at 6:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Humane Society or the Williamson County Animal Shelter in Georgetown (in honor of Mona Lisa's one night stay.) I did not know Mike and Yoli, but I do know that their restraunts served amazing food for many years. I didn't even know of this until I heard the pastor at Promiseland Church speak of it on Sunday. Such a sad way to end two lives, but I pray for their friends and family that they are able to find peace....God Bless
