Mildred Clark Obituary

Mildred Agnes Clark, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully, February 19, 2025, in Hutto, TX. Mildred was a woman of deep love and devotion, cherishing her family above all else. Her warm heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone she knew. Born on January 12, 1942, in Austin, Texas, to Everea and Dave Ockletree Sr., Mildred, a mother of 3, met the love of her life, John Parker Clark, father of 5, and together they had two daughters. Mildred and John created a loving blended family, uniting their eight children as one. Mildred was known for her infectious smile and her love of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Earlier in her life, Mildred embraced her faith and accepted Christ as her personal Savior. Mildred was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she joined under the late Rev. G. V. Clark. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Everea and Dave Ockletree Sr., her sisters Clara Harper, Velma New, and Charlie Mae Ockletree, her daughter Joyce Clark, and her granddaughter, Tamika Nicole. Unfortunately, one week before her death, Mildred's son, Larry Charles Ockletree Sr., was called home to glory.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John P. Clark, and their children: Vicky Lee, Lisa Willis (husband Pastor Eddie Willis Sr.), Donna Brown, Cheryl Clark Adegbembo (husband Adeyinka), Johnny Clark Sr., Brenda Bedford, Linda Faye Hubert, Debra Norwood (husband Alfred Norwood). Her Brother Dave Ockletree (wife Billie Ockletree), her sister-in-law Sewilla Jackson, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mildred will be deeply missed, and her legacy of faith, love, and grace will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2938 E. 13th St., Austin, TX 78702.
