Molly Morris Obituary

Molly Bunnell Morris went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 1st, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on November 26th, 1947, the beloved only child of Allyne and Bob Bunnell. Her father's work in the oil industry allowed the family to live in many places across the United States and Spain, yet Austin was always the place that felt most like home.
Molly met the love of her life, Nick Morris, while they were both attending TCU in September of 1967. From the moment they met, there was a spark, and they married the following July. Their life together was marked by deep devotion, unwavering partnership, and a love story that blessed them with three children- their daughter Kim, and sons Trey and Bobby- who meant everything to them.
Molly had a genuine heart for people and poured her energy into everything she touched. She and Nicky took great pride in being part of the Calcasieu Lumber family, and she also worked at Frost Bank for a time. Her many years with the Junior League of Austin reflected her servant's heart, leadership, and her desire to make the community better. She formed lifelong friendships and cared for others with remarkable warmth, loyalty, and grace.
Molly and Nicky embraced life with a sense of adventure. Whether living in Ruidoso, traveling the world, or welcoming friends and family to their ranch in Johnson City, they were happiest when they were together. One of Molly's greatest Joys was becoming Nana to nine cherished grandchildren. Each one held a unique place in her heart, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. She was deeply excited to welcome her first great-granddaughter next spring.
Molly is survived by her husband of 57 beautiful years, Truman Nicholas "Nicky" Morris Jr; her children Trey and Lori Morris, Bobby and Lesley Morris; and her treasured grandchildren Hudson, Hatton, Molly-Kimberlyn, Anna-Nicole, Truman (IV), Margaret, Nicholas, Josie, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Kimberly and her parents, whose memories she carried with her always.
Molly's life was defined by her faith, her devotion to family, and her gift for bringing people together. She loved generously, laughed often, and leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and unwavering love. Those who knew her were blessed by her presence, and she will be missed beyond measure.
The family is deeply grateful to Rose O'Donnell for the love and care she gave to Molly as her dialysis nurse. She has truly been a gift.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025 in the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church, 4214 N. Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, Texas 78746.

Nicky, you already know this but I will write it anyway in the hope that these may be words of comfort during an incredibly hard time for you.
Jimmy and I loved Molly like a sister. She made us laugh and always made us feel welcome in your homes. She truly was more fun than anyone and wiser than most in all the ways that really count.
We will miss her with all of our hearts!!! We love you.
