Phillip SYPHERS Obituary
Phillip Charles Syphers, age 81, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016.
Phillip was born in Muncie, Indiana on February 21, 1935. He was the son of J. Lawrence and Dorotha Gesell Syphers.
Phillip was retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene and Jerry.
Survivors include his wife Betty; one brother, Jack Syphers, of Muncie, Indiana; and four children, Sue Syphers, Chris Syphers (Jamie Dollahite), Lynn Syphers, and Lynda Florence (Dayne). He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Vistitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Harrell Funeral Home Kyle. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Salvation Army or Boys Town.

I'm sorry I didn't know about Phil's passing. I was thinking about him today as I drove through Kyle on my way home. I worked with Phil for several years at TDHS. I always admired Phil because he was a smart man with a great work ethic, but more importantly, he was good and kind. I always looked up to him and am glad I had the good fortune to have known him.
