Phyllis J. Mills Phyllis J. Mills departed this life peacefully on August 16, 2011. She was born December 31, 1930 to Lawrence Guy and Alice (Pike) Atwell in Woodward, Oklahoma. Phyllis and Bennie Mills Jr. married on February 5, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. Phyllis worked in retail and management positions throughout her life but her biggest accomplishment was raising three children while following her husband, an Air Force NCO all over the world. Being the wife of a service man was not an easy task; however, Phyllis was always there by his side through world wide moves and taking care of the home. She was a strong, spirited and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a zest for living, life and a sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bennie Mills and their oldest grandson, Daniel. She is survived by her children, Kenneth D. Mills and wife, Betty of Virginia, Deana Thiem of Austin and Rhia Espinoza and husband, Robert of Lockhart; grandchildren, Shannon Kolvaski and husband, Adam, Hope Mills, Dawn Thiem and David Thiem and wife, Shelly, Kris Crabill, Ashley Crabill and Zachary Espinoza; and one great granddaughter. A Celebration of Phyllis' life will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at McCurdy Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Elizabeth P.
