Samuel Thomas Butler Samuel Thomas Butler, 76, of Austin passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2005, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born June 2, 1929, in Winchester, Kentucky the son of Viola and Dave Butler and grandson of Clara and Samuel Purllant. After serving in the Army from 1952 - 1960, Sam began his career at IBM in Lexington, Kentucky and transferred to Austin in 1970. He retired in 1992, to enjoy gardening and woodworking. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and his stepsons Johnathan Miller and Richard Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Iva. He is also survived by his children: Mike Butler and wife Alesia of Winchester, Ky., Susan Mireles and husband Daniel of Austin, Scott Butler and fiance' Susan Pensyl of Austin, Vicki Goodrich and husband Robert of Elgin, and special niece, Mary King and Ricky King of Cedar Park. Grandchildren are Samantha and Matthew, Grant, Will, Dan and Shannon. The family would like to thank Girling Hospice, especially Julie, Darlene, and John. Also, special thanks to Genette of Altenheim and the entire staff of Trinity Care Center who provided loving care. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2005, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at 3:30 p.m., in the Capital Parks Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services to follow immediately. The Family requests memorial contributions be made to Girling Hospice, Attn: Memorials for Samuel Butler, 3410 Far West #320, Austin, Texas 78731 or Trinity Care Center, Attn: Trinity Auxillary, Samuel Butler Memorials, 1000 E. Main, Round Rock, Texas 78664.
