Sandra Caffey Falkenberg

1948 - 2025

Sandra Caffey Falkenberg, 76, passed away on April 4th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, and musician. She graduated from McCallum High School in Austin in 1968 and from the University of Texas Arlington in 1972. Sandy taught elementary music in the Del Valle School District and the Alamo Heights and Northeast Independent school districts in San Antonio. She also sang in church choirs and assisted with children's music at several San Antonio churches. Most recently, Sandy and her husband Ralph were members of the St. Mark's Episcopal Church choir in San Antonio, where they enjoyed five pilgrimages to the UK, singing at Anglican cathedrals and sharing their love of music internationally.

Sandy is survived by her husband Ralph, daughters Rev. Katie Rode and Anna Freemyer, stepsons Michael and Max Falkenberg, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Donna Rinn, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. A Memorial Service will be held April 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, followed by a luncheon in Gosnell Hall. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Cecilia Guild or the Falkenberg Endowment Scholarship at Texas Lutheran University. The family thanks all who cared for Sandy during her cancer journey.
