Sandy Marshall Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Scoular Marshall passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Austin Texas at the age of 84. Born in 1939 and raised in the Midwest, Sandy spent her childhood in Omaha, Nebraska where she attended Westside High School and then continued her education at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Daughter to Robert Scoular of Scoular Bishop Grain Company, Sandy was honored to be selected as an Aksarben Princess. She also was fortunate to be chosen as a Foreign Exchange Student and traveled extensively throughout Europe before returning to Omaha where she married James "Jim" Robert Marshall. Upon marrying in 1961, the couple migrated to California to begin their life together; first in Fullerton and then to Covina where they spent many years forging friendships and building many family memories including their two children, Todd and Tracy.

When Sandy was not working at Hope House, a home for multiple-handicapped children, she spent most of her time actively participating in her children's activities - from little league to scouts and the local PTA. Sandy was always there to help and was known for baking her famous "Cowboy" Chocolate Chip Cookies for friends and neighbors. Whenever possible, Sandy and Jim loaded up the family and drove to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where countless family memories were shared on "Hot Chocolate" a Campbell boat rigged by Jim and Todd and helpful neighbors.

In 1980, Jim and Sandy had the opportunity to return to their home state of Nebraska, where Sandy volunteered at a local hospital and the Assistance League, a local service league. Then in 1985, the couple made Austin, Texas their home, first building their dream home on the shores of Lake Austin, then doing it all over again on Lake Travis in the Barton Creek Lakeside community in Spicewood. Following Jim's death, Sandy devoted her time to volunteering in her community amassing over 35,000 hours in Austin. She also enjoyed gardening, and spending time at the lake with her family.

Those that knew her best, knew her as loyal, dedicated, feisty, spunky, but most importantly kind. Sandy took great pride and joy in caring for others. She thrived on relationships and she was forever your friend, or your "kiddo" as she often said to those she held dear, especially her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Grammy.

Sandy was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2009, her sister Cynthia Thiel (Omaha, NE) and parents, Robert Meek Scoular and Gayle Louise Murray Scoular (Omaha, NE).

Sandy is survived by her son, Todd Marshall and his wife, Julie of Tempe, Arizona along with their children, son Parker Robert Marshall & his wife Victoria Zorzoli of Portland, Oregon and daughter Madison Lillian Marshall Dobbs and her husband Clayton of Hermosa Beach, California. She is also survived by her daughter Tracy Lynn Marshall Minchich and her husband Nick of Spicewood and their dogs she lovingly called her grandpuppies.

The family invites you to a Celebration of her life at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 30 at Bee Creek United Methodist Church in Spicewood, Texas. Memorials may be made to Highland Lakes Canine Rescue, your local shelter, or the charity or service league of your choice.

It's obvious some patients with HERPES are being enslaved to the antiviral and other supplementary Orthodox medicine just to help suppress the virus and not a cure. I have been with the virus since 2019 until I was introduced by a blogger who also narrated Her story online on how she was cured of Herpes after using Dr Eze Herbal Medicine. This is a year and 2 weeks since I was delivered from Herpes. All thanks to God for using this Great herbal mixture to heal me. I have promised to keep telling good things about his work. Please fill free to share Your problems with him. Thanks. Reach him on email [email protected] or WhatsApp (+2347018157305)

Sandy was one STRONG woman. She worked faithfully at Assistance League of Austin for many years and joyfully greeted everyone. Sandy was an encourager, hard worker, and strong advocate for the League's mission to serve multiple populations in the Austin area comprised of people in need. We miss her!
