Fire and Blood, with Lone Star, are the absolute best of their kind I have found in my years of historical reading. My thoughts go out to his family and we have lost a true scholar/historian. William Mouton, Lafayette, La.

Thus passes one of the best Texas historians. His revelations have made many aware of what constitutes the unique Texas psyche and how it came about. His survivors should find some consolation in that his works have affected so many. A life well lived.
