Texie Courtney Obituary

Texie "Claudine" Courtney Claudine Courtney, 88, of Austin, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Mrs. Courtney was born on April 6, 1921, in Grapeland, Tex., to Ira Murdock and Clarice Skidmore Murdock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Lee Courtney, and her daughter, Geraldine Bramlett. Claudine is survived by her brother, John Murdock of Argyle; sister, Flo Brookshire of Crockett; sisters, Reba Worley and Katherine Heyerdahl of Palestine; son, Elvin Wayne Courtney of Burnet; daughter, Elizabeth Thompson of Austin; daughter, Patricia Pellar and husband Clifford of Austin; daughter, Lorettus Calihan of Lago Vista; and daughter, Sylvia Wyatt and husband Bill of Pflugerville. Her beloved family also includes fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Claudine was always full of warmth, generosity, and compassion. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff of Hospice Austin. An open visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the garden of The Lord's Last Supper at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery.

Mrs. Courtney was the most wonderful woman I have ever met. She was the Mother we all wished we has been blessed with. I loved her dearly.
