Theodore Lyon

1947 - 2025

Theodore Richard Lyon (Ted) died November 11, 2025, Veteran's Day - ironically consistent, after his strong involvement for several decades with the VFW, caring for other veterans and their causes. Born to William M. and Mary Louise (Cochran) Lyon on September 12, 1947, he is survived by his wife, Louise, sons Eric and Michael, step-children Terri Bosch, Randy Hawthorne, Becky Sutherland, grandson E. J. Lyon, step-grandchildren Isis, Justin, and Amber, plus his older brother, Bill. Ted was an Air Force veteran, with his pivotal tour at Tuy Hoa Air Base in Vietnam during the Tet offensive, as part of the Red Horse Battalion. He was a two-time VFW Post Commander, member of the Board of Trustees, and Post Service Officer. He was a valued community member, who considered all who knew him to be his extended family. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM at the American Legion Hall, 1000 N. College St., Georgetown, TX, 78626, on December 3, 2025.
