We love all you guys, and I wish we had words to help--please do know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am glad for Mel that he is in perfect fellowship with Christ now, but his leaving this world sure hurts for those that are left.

Mrs. Kyser and family, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Every time I saw Mel, he was always wearing a smile on his face. His presence was heart-warming. Thank you very much for all he and Mrs. Kyser have brought to this community. He will be missed very much, but is now in singing with the angels in heaven. Love you both, and you and your family are all in my prayers.

Thoughts of Mr. Kyser bring me back to the early 90's when we moved to Kyle from Austin. He was always smiling, happy, welcoming, and made you feel the love of Christ. A true educator to the end, I remember him describing what college would be like during a speech tournament one Saturday afternoon in April 1997, and it put me at ease. The last time I saw Mr. Kyser was at a gospel singing at Old Town and he seemed to be at home in such worship of the Lord--- now you can praise him face to face. Was a pleasure knowing this wonderful man and sorry I am too far away to attend the service.

Dear Elizabeth and Jason your dad was a great man. He was more than a great teacher he was a role model in life. Every student that he came in contact with was blessed. I was one of them. He will be missed.

Dear Virginia, Shirley, and the entire family of Vermell,
Please accept my condolences in your time of sorrow. May the Lord comfort you and help you recall all the wonderful memories of your time with Vermell.

Although I haven't seen or talked to him in a long time, he provided many hours of laughter to me when I was younger that I still have fun remembering. One in particular - was our "raid" of the Freeman home - "domini, domini, domini." I know he's having fun and rejoicing in heaven. peace & love

Dear Karen and family, I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I was acquainted with Mel and he was one of the nicest people that I have every known. Every time I ran into him, he was so friendly and took the time to visit. He truly did let his light shine.

God's grace is sufficient and will sustain you during your time of grief.

You are in my prayers.

What a blessing Mel has been to me, and what a celebration of LIFE! The Countenance and Glory of the Lord were ever on his face and in his arms. May my own eternal reward be even an ounce of the joy Mel is now experiencing.
I don't think the track is going to be wide enough this year... which ever track they choose.
"WELL DONE, My good and faithful servant. In you, Mel, I Am WELL PLEASED."
My prayers are with you as you travel the journeys ahead.
Deepest love,
Leah Cochran

Mel was one of the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of spending time with. He was a teacher, a mentor, and a Hero. When I was in high school, he helped me find the courage to see talents that I didn't even know I possessed and to pursue dreams and accomplish goals. Mel was one of the few who lived his life each day, Monday through Friday, like the man you saw he was at church on Sunday. He was genuine. Looking back, I have always been able to see that he was that one teacher who inspired me to be where I am today. Our loss for the moment is Heaven's gain.

To the Kyser family - I graduated with Vermell from Johnston High in '62' and one of the things that impressed me about Mel was that he was not a quitter. He taught one of my kids at Hays high school and my son had nothing but positive praise for Mel. We here on earth have lost a friend but Heaven has gained an angel. We will miss a treasured friend. May God bless the Kyer family always.

Forever in our hearts, my dear Karen and family, they shall live on forever in peace, calmness and serenity.

My dear friend, Karen, I may be far away, but you and your Mel are always in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss, for your pain and that of your children and family. Mel is a true hero for many kids and families, a true blessing to our world. To let you know, I received a call from one of Mel's former students to let me know of his passing. That is a true tribute..with sympathy and empathy, Barb
