Vicki Goodrich Obituary

Vicki Jane Miller Goodrich passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 19, 2026, after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. Vicki was born on June 18, 1953, to Iva (Shoemaker) Miller and Allan Noah Miller in St Louis, Missouri. She relocated to Texas with her family in 1968, and graduated from McCallum High School in Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her three older brothers, Gary Allan Miller, Richard Eugene Miller, and Jonathan Noah Miller.

Vicki was a beautiful, intelligent, talented, compassionate, loving, and humble woman who valued friendship with all those she knew. But most of all Vicki valued her faith in Jesus Christ. She and Robert enjoyed traveling and a glass of wine. Despite the wonderful travel, there was nowhere Vicki enjoyed more than being home with her family and friends.

Vicki and Robert married in 1974. In 1978 she graduated from the University of Texas with a BS degree in Interior Design. For the following seven years she worked as interior designer, first in Austin, then in Houston. In 1985, Vicki gave birth to their first son, Grant, followed in 1988 with the arrival of their second son, William. Vicki embraced her career change from interior designer to mother, an occupation she considered much loftier.

After both sons went off to college, she took up pastel and watercolor painting. Other than some commissioned pet portraits, she painted simply because she loved to create. She also greatly loved the succession of dogs that joined the household over the years. Vicki was a committed volunteer with her sons' scouting dens and troops, and at their schools. She volunteered at Austin LifeCare and was a church liason with pregnancy centers in Austin. She shared her art by teaching children and adults how to watercolor.

Vicki is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-one years, Robert; son Grant and wife Brandy of San Antonio, and grandsons Noah and Augustus; son William and wife Mallory of Mansfield, and granddaughter Samantha; her nephew Daniel and his family of St Louis; and a host of cousins. She is also survived by Wade and Margaret Goodrich, Callie Goodrich, Haddy and Brian Turner, and Michael Goodrich, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived as well by her lifelong friends, Barbara and Edward Foxhall of Gainesville, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Presbyterian Church at 2111 Alexander Ave in Austin on February 28, 2026 at 11 AM.

We request no flowers. Please make memorial donations to the Georgetown Public Library or the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

Vicki and I were roommates in an old House I think on 14th St in Austin. She was a sophomore and I was a Senior at UT. She was a spark of joy with a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile.
