Wauneita Land Obituary

Wauneita Jill Land, known to many as Jill, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Paige, Texas, at the age of 81. She was born on January 3, 1944, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Harley A. DeVilbiss and Dorothy Shea-DeVilbiss.

Jill is survived by her lifelong friend and husband of 35 years, Monte Land of Paige, Texas; her children, Keith and Janis Land of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Kevin and Amanda Land of Oak Harbor, Washington; as well as many friends who cherished her presence in their lives.

Jill was a devoted wife and mother whose warmth and kindness touched those around her. She was a talented artist with a creative spirit that shone through in her work. However, her greatest passion was horsesshe was an accomplished horsewoman who dedicated much of her life to working with and caring for them.

A remembrance memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In honor of Jill's love for horses, well-wishers are encouraged to make donations to any equine rescue charity.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
