Kathryn Grace "Kathy" Taunt passed away on July 25, 2021, in Chewelah, Washington.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1954, in Tacoma, Washington.
Kathy moved from Tacoma to Coulee Dam, Washington, with her mom (Danna) and siblings.
Danna married Leonard Morris in 1964, who raised and loved her as his own.
In her childhood, Kathy and her family lived in various areas throughout the inland Northwest.
Growing up, the family enjoyed going on camping trips, boating trips and just being out in nature. They would make an adventure out of gathering loads of firewood, times they fondly remember.
Kathy graduated from Coulee Dam High School with the class of 1972.
Kathy had a chance encounter with a gentleman named Richard Taunt in Key Center, Washington, in 1986.
Their relationship blossomed into love and they married on Feb. 14, 1989, at the Williams Lake Church in Colville, Washington.
They made their home in Echo Valley, Washington, for many years where they enjoyed each other's company going on motorcycle rides and trips up to their summer cabin.
Kathy loved her animals, especially her beloved poodles.
She enjoyed collecting all sorts of trinkets, which would adorn her cabinets and curios.
Kathy loved her flowers and was very meticulous when it came to her home and appearance.
Despite her failing health, Kathy maintained a positive and upbeat outlook and personality.
Kathy treasured her family and she will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Danna Morris; and sister, Therese Cramblit.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; sisters, Loretta Bingham, Lynette (Geary) Oliver, Bonnie (Shane) Acorn; brother, Bill (Tammy) Brown; stepsister, Roxanne Park; stepbrothers, Jay (Nancy) Coogan, David Morris, Pat Morris and Delbert (Johni) Morris; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
The memorial service for Mrs. Kathryn Grace "Kathy" Taunt will take place on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville, with Pastor Shane Moffitt officiating.
