Leo Edward "Eddy" Mahaffey

1964 - 2015

Leo "Eddy" Edward Mahaffey, a resident of Vancouver, passed away on August 22, 2015 at his home in Vancouver at the age of 50.
Leo was born on August 26, 1964 to Leo and Alvina (Jundt) Mahaffey in Billings, Montana. He was born into a family with six older siblings, which he made sure to keep them on their toes. When Leo was six, the family moved to Chewelah, where their grandmother Florence Mahaffey resided. Leo grew up in Chewelah. He moved to Vancouver in 1979.
He went to work with his brother Jesse at the 76 Station in Vancouver for about eight years. Leo also worked for five years at the Mill Plains Chevron Station pumping gas. Leo met Melody Johnson-Ostergren and they had their daughter, Stephanie Rae Mahaffey, on April 3 1985. Leo and Melody spent 11 years together before deciding to part ways.
Leo then went on to run forklift for Kotobuka for about 10 years. He met Linda while working at Kotobuka and began dating his long-time partner, Linda Nichols, who he lived with until his death.
He began working for Care Health Solution in 2006 until Geneva Woods purchased the company in April 2015. Leo enjoyed delivering prescriptions for the company. He would often joke and say he was a paid drug dealer and everyone loved to see him. He enjoyed the people and his co-workers he would meet through his job. Leo loved to make them laugh and light up when he was around. Leo loved to tease and it didn't matter who you were--he would tease everyone from his clients, co-workers, family and friends.
Leo was very witty and enjoyed finding your weakness and teasing you about it. Anyone who knew him would say how funny and witty he was and how he just loved to make you laugh uncontrollably. He will truly be missed.
Leo was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alvina and Leo Oreon Mahaffey.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Mahaffey, Portland OR; his partner, Linda Nichols, Vancouver; brothers, Jesse Mahaffey, Kelso; Danny Mahaffey and wife Brenda, Pueblo, CO; sisters, Shirley Parker, Seattle; Sherry Carter, Longview; Esther Mahaffey, Colville, and Patricia De Nise and husband Skip, Canon City CO; numerous nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Brian Olson.
