Shirley Lorraine Anderson passed away peacefully on Oct. 19, 2021, in Colville, Washington.
Shirley was born in Iowa Sept. 3, 1932, to Joseph and Edith (Levine) Korinke.
After high school graduation, Shirley married Charles Dean Cory, who was in the Air Force, and relocated to Fairbanks, Alaska, where their first girl was born.
After relocating to California, Shirley gave birth to five more daughters.
After Chuck and Shirley divorced, her mother Edith Korinke, came to help raise her six girls as she had to go to work to make ends meet.
For over 20 years, she worked hard and raised her girls alone, and even helped raise some of her son-in-laws. She had incredible strength and fortitude that carried her and her family through many hard times.
Shirley came to visit a daughter who had moved to Colville and met and fell in love with George Anderson. They were married July 2, 1989.
All her children relocated to Colville to be with their Mom, and George became a "Pop" to her girls and their families.
Shirley was very involved in AA, the Hospital Auxiliary, Bowling, Lady Elks and Ladies Golf Club.
She was also very dedicated to the Catholic Church and volunteered to visit those who could no longer come to the church and deliver communion to them.
She is well known in this area for helping others. Always willing to share her story and encourage others and give advice asked for or not.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; all her brothers and sisters; first husband, Charles Cory; second husband, George Anderson; grandson, Andrew Puett; and son-in-law, Rod Puett.
She is survived by her children, Denise Rogers and husband Bill, Debra Marsh, Dana Cory, Darcy Puett and Jim, Diane Stanford and Andy, Darla Nez and George.
She is also survived by stepson, Bob Anderson and wife, Kelly; stepdaughter, Sue Poe and husband, John; 18 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family.
